What it measures

Not the tools you use. The system around them.

Your next step is rarely more tools. It’s better inputs and a stronger system around AI.

  • Direction

Leadership alignment and use cases with real value behind them.

  • Knowledge

Whether your core knowledge is structured enough for AI to reference, and whether AI-written content stays on brand.

  • Governance

Rules for safe use, how you handle wrong answers, and how well sensitive information is protected.

  • Workflows

Whether AI lives inside real, repeatable work, on a clear and shared set of tools.

  • Adoption

How ready your team is to use AI day to day, consistently and accountably.

  • Upkeep

How you measure value, and who owns quality and improvement over time.

The six tiers

From Not Ready Yet to Scale Ready.

Your answers place you in one of six tiers. Each one comes with its own biggest gap and next step.

  1. Tier 1 Not Ready Yet

AI use is likely to create confusion, risk and inconsistent outputs.

  2. Tier 2 Curious but Unstructured

You have interest, but AI will stay hit-or-miss without structure.

  3. Tier 3 Early Stage Ready

You can run pilots, but quality depends on who is doing the work.

  4. Tier 4 Pilot Ready

You’re ready for real pilots that can turn into stable workflows.

  5. Tier 5 Operational Ready

You have the building blocks to scale AI across teams.

  6. Tier 6 Scale Ready

You’re positioned to deploy AI as a reliable operating capability.

Questions

Questions about the readiness check.

What is the FieldSignal AI Readiness Check?

A free, twelve-question self-assessment that shows how prepared your organization is to use AI accurately and safely. It covers leadership alignment, use cases, your knowledge foundation, governance, workflow integration and adoption, and places you in one of six readiness tiers.

How do the tiers work?

Each answer reflects how established that area is today. Together, your answers place you in one of six tiers, from Not Ready Yet to Scale Ready, each with its own biggest gap and next step. The two questions at the end, about company size and priority, don’t affect your tier. They shape where we’d suggest you start.

What happens to my answers?

When you ask for your scorecard, we email you a copy, save your answers and tier to your contact record, and add you to our readiness check list so we can follow up about your results. If you tick the box, we’ll also send you FieldSignal insights and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we never share your answers.

My tier is low. Is that bad?

No. A low tier means the conditions for success aren’t in place yet, not that AI isn’t relevant to you. At that stage most of the value comes from clarity: a few meaningful use cases, the knowledge AI would need, and basic rules for safe use.

What should I do with my result?

Start with your biggest gap and your weakest areas, which the result lists for you. AI readiness isn’t about how many tools you use. It’s about whether the system around AI is strong enough to support accuracy, trust and scale.
